Planxty Antoine Ó Raifteirí : Composing a tune from a flute and guitar improvisation with Sheldon King

Greetings Irish Music Nerds !

I composed this planxty inspired by the beautiful playing of Sheldon King who kindly asked me to play along with him.

I started by improvising on his chords and then shaped the melody of a planxty. I chose to dedicate the planxty to Antoine Ó Raifteirí (1779 – 1835), a nomadic bard who wandered around the West of Ireland, reciting poetry and playing music.
