Greetings Irish Music Nerds,I hope March has treated you kindly.

I'm here with a set of two gorgeous jigs called Contentment is Wealth & The Fox in the Thatch. These tunes are from my "Comfort tunes" collection !! I love playing them when I feel a bit under the weather, they instantly cheer me up. This "Tunes in the Kitchen" is a Youtube preview (it will be published on Monday).

The first tune is an old and very popular tune. It was recorded in the 1930s by fiddle player Hugh Gillespie in New York and transcripted in A minor in O'Neill's Dance Music of Ireland: 1001 Gems (1907).

The second jig is one of John Dwyer's many gorgeous compositions, and its title refers to the session Edel Fox ran at a pub called The Thatch.
