Tunes In The Kitchen #27 : Scully Casey's & Paidin O Raifeartaigh (jigs)

Tunes In The Kitchen #27 : Scully Casey's & Paidin O Raifeartaigh (jigs) A few hours left before taking off to Nouméa, I feel like jigging all over the place ! I've had the most wonderful times these past few weeks sharing tunes with friends before leaving. I got the first tune from a good friend of mine and a mighty banjo and mandolin player from Normandy, Fred Bourgeois. Check him out right here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbYATMH59mkI-m4RjhIjtxA?view_as=public I got the second tune from the playing of Cailin Nic Gabhan and Ciaran O'Maonaigh. It's a lovely version of a Paidin O Raifeartaigh tune. There are many versions of tunes called "Paidin O' Raifeartaigh", most of them are associated with the playing of Willie Clancy. . I read on thesession.org that Paddy O’Rafferty was the servant boy of O’Carolan, that this was originally a harp tune - possibly accounting for the varying number of parts in different versions. "Tunes in the Kitchen" : when not playing at sessions or on stage, most of the times I play tunes in my kitchen. I'm a French flute player, and I happen to play mostly irish trad music, having grown up in a musical family deeply rooted in the Irish culture. As is so happens, I'm about to leave France to New Caledonia in a couple of months so I am playing my fav tunes in the kitchen I'm about to leave forever...! Feel free to subscribe and share the music ! Follow me ! http://www.lucieperier.com https://www.facebook.com/LuciePerierFlute http://www.soundcloud.com/lucie-perier
